A fun and unique plant, the Swiss Cheese Plant (AKA Monstera Adansonii) gains more and more holes in its leaves as it matures. It is a vine in its natural habitat and can trail down, or climb up with a pole or trellis.
Monstera are most often known for the fenestrations or deep lobes found on their leaves, although some are grown more for their coloration. They are members of the Arum family and care is typically similar to their more common cousins like Philodendrons and Pothos. Most varieties prefer strong indirect light with minimal direct sun, and should be watered moderately once they are almost but not totally dry. Most are vines, and can benefit from regular pruning and propagation.
